Senior Boy / Junior Prom

Chase and a girl from our ward Alanna went to Junior Prom together. I always love dances, it is so fun to have the kids pose in all these traditional poses. Aren't they cute!

I love Alanna's dress!

This is the full group shot of all the kids that went together, Todd, Lorena, Alanna and Chase.

They actually ate dinner at our house that night, (forgot to take pictures, boo!) We set up a intimate little table setting in our front room, it was decorated in red, black and white to represent Bella Vista colors. It really did look beautiful and I think the girls really thought it was special.

Scott was their waiter and they had:

First Course: Salad with a homemade vinaigrette that was SOOO Good!
Second Course: BBQ Pork Loin, Prom Potatoes (really they were funeral potatoes, but we had to rename them for the event), Asparagus and Rolls
Dessert Course: Their choice of: Double Chocolate Cheesecake, Dule De Leche Cheesecake, Raspberry White Chocolate Truffle Cheesecake!

I think the kids had a great time, and I know that Scott and I had fun. Scott would serve them there course and then we were in the kitchen and we'd eat that some course. We were having our own little date night, while the kids were having theirs! Fun, fun, fun!

My Big boy takes on the Big Jud

It's become somewhat of a tradition to visit "Big Jud's" when we go to Idaho. It's always super fun if you have someone with you who has never been before. This new person was Jordan, he was on his mission when we came last time. Last time I posted how all the boys took on that challenge, and none of them accomplished it. Even Chase who is my big buffy boy barely made it through 1/3 of the hamburger. How will Jordan do? That is the question!

Little Kai was only a couple of weeks old last time we were here with him, now here he is in a big boy high chair, and he was excited to participate in the eating process of the Big Jud!!

Ashleigh and baby posing for my camera - you really should see this little guy get so excited over food - I love to watch him!

Ok here it is, my Big boy about to take on the Big Jud! Look at the size of that thing, the meat alone is 1 pound. Then you add all the lettuce, tomatoes, bun etc. My goodness, the very sight of it makes you full!

I believe Jordan was a little sheepish when he saw it come out, but he was ready for the challenge!

And away he went, section after section he took on that burger like it was his job! I was impressed! He got down to the last little big, and as you can see he now has a fork in hand. No longer could he pick the burger up, he needed a fork to help him with the process!

At this point our table is starting to chant his name, "Jordan, Jordan, Jordan!" All the other tables were looking over our way!

In it goes, the very last bite of the Big Jud! We were all clapping, others in the restaurant were smiling - this kid actually did it, and now he will have his picture on the wall of the restaurant!

Wow, I can't believe it! My Big Boy took on the Big Jud and WON!!

What an Amazing Teacher!!

At the beginning of April we went to Idaho, for a quick visit. We got there late on a Thursday night and on Friday morning I had the great pleasure of going to Kindergarten with Ashleigh. She had been telling the kids that I was going to come visit, they had been practicing on how to say "Mrs. McKee" I of course have been hearing stories for months now of all these little children, and I was just as excited to see them.

I couldn't take any pictures of the kids (it's not allowed) , but I wish that I could have. They have the sweetest little faces. When the kids came into the classroom Ashleigh asked them if they noticed anything different about the class room. They started picking out little random things that were changed (different writing on the chalkboard, or a picture that was moved, all which were correct, but not what she was looking for.) All of a sudden some of the kids started pointing over in my direction, and she played along like she had no clue at what they were pointing at. It was so cute, they were so excited to make her understand that there was a lady in their room! They all started saying, "It's Mrs. McKee, It's Mrs. McKee" Sweet! She asked them if we looked alike and they said NO! She said, "What about when Mrs. T had blonde hair, then do we look alike?" One of them said, "Well maybe, but Mrs. McKee wears glasses." Then another chimes in and says, "That's because she can't see very well!" Ha ha, I love little children, you will always get a full bowl of honesty with them!
Through out the day, I found myself getting weepy as I watched Ashleigh teach. Since she was a little girl, not much older than kindergarten herself she would tell us, I want to be a kindergarten teacher. She never swayed. And now, all these years later, here I was, sitting in her classroom, watching her teach these little children who obviously adore her. She is an AMAZING teacher, and the children respond to her with great enthusiasm. Ashleigh has little songs, that prompt the children to do different things, (line up, get your back packs, help on spelling words, etc.) when the kids start to hear the song, they sing along and do whatever thing that song talks about. It was so cute, I just loved it, and I just LOVED watching her lead those sweet children.

Great job Ashleigh - You are amazing!
